"Renewed Hope: The Beginning"

Part 1 - “Renewed Hope: The Beginning” represents the beginning of Obama's campaign journey. This artwork reflects Obama's themes of change, hope, and unity. It was started in January of 2008 and was completed on March 5th, of 2008.

The original artwork is 18"x24" and was done in the Conte and Pastel medium on textured paper. The content of the artwork is surreally composed of all the things that represent the political candidate. In addition to Barack Obama’s portrait, included are flowers of money to signify prosperity, financial growth, and to pun on the word “change”. The dove represents “hope” as it fly’s in the sky with a ribbon in its mouth, while the stormy White House waits to be renovated when Obama crosses the bridge.

Part 2 - "Renewed Hope: The Nominee" will be completed in 2009
This piece will document his campaign from June 2008 to November 3 (prior to election day).

Part 3 - "Renewed Hope: The President" will be completed in 2009
This piece will document his campaign from November 4th (election day) to inaguration.
