About The Artist - Nicky Hall

About the Artist
Nicky Hall is a native of Maryland and subscribes to textured surrealism as her personal style. She studied metals at the Maryland Institute College of Art where her work was published in MICA’s 2004 catalog. She studied drawing and painting at the University of Maryland.

From the Artist: Art is a way to release the thoughts and visions from my mind. The highest honor for me is when someone is touched deeply by one of my pieces. I started this business after I lost my Grandfather. I could not look at photos of him because the pain was too great. Instead, I painted all of the things that represented him (See painting below). It was completed in 4 days in time to be placed beside his casket during his funeral. From that point, I viewed art as a service to others by capturing what that person or moment represents and bringing that forth in a surreal and creative way.

My Motto: "The highest duty of an Artist is to capture moments in time that will last forever...from generation to generation. In serving this vision they will capture the essence of another's spirit or the spirit of an event in time...A spirit that will live long through the ages..." -Nicky Hall

Traditional Oil (Textured Surrealism) - Commemorating a Loved One
– (Textured Surrealism Style)
This piece was created completely from the artist's mind. The content is comprised of all the things that represents the Artist's late Grandfather such as toothpicks, fishing, Chap Stick, WWII metal, guitar, and the horse. The Virginia mountains at sunset layout the background. The rose represents his wife, and on the leaves are the names of their children. He was a religious man with a beautiful spirit. The crowns represent the Holy Trinity, while the cowboy hat represents him. The white ribbon ties all 4 together. The cross in the hat represents the church that he founded.
